Organic gardening is the activity of gardening without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. If you are interested in organic gardening, here are the steps involved:

First, make sure the soil is properly conditioned because healthy soil helps build strong, productive plants. You can evaluate the quality of your soil at home or submit a sample to your local agricultural extension office to determine its quality. This gives you a complete breakdown of pH and nutrient levels, as well as a treatment recommendation.

Second, making compost to feed the plants, help conserve water, cut down on weeds, and keep food and yard waste out of landfills. Compost can be spread around plants or mixed with potting soil.

Proceed by choosing plants that will thrive in each location, considering light, moisture, drainage, and soil quality. These factors are usually graded in most gardens. Your plants will be more resistant to intruders if they are happy.

Next, when buying seedlings, go for plants raised without chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Your local farmers’ market is also a good place to look since they may contain native plants and kinds that are well-suited to your location.

Further, group tightly plants you harvest in raised beds. Grouping lets you target compost and nutrients while reducing weeding and water waste.

Moving forward, watering and weeding the plants allow them to grow healthy and without disturbance. Ensuring plants are getting enough light, nutrients, and moisture is a good way to protect from pests. After the plants grow, you can harvest and store them accordingly.
